Social Media Is The Marketing Power of YOU

By Luis Galarza - Internet Marketing.

A Beginners Guide To Social Media Marketing And The Effects Of The Power Of "YOU"!...

Before we get into how to use social media marketing, first of all you need to understand that of the heck is social media and why is becoming so important for any size business, online or offline to get involve in it. Web 2.0 which is the technology behind social media is more than just a fancy code word or lingo from the Internet, was the beginning to a new era of personal interaction, business transparency, and permission marketing, plus:

  • Information distribution.
  • Communication.
  • Content interaction.
  • Content creation.
  • New Internet marketing strategies.
  • Brand marketing.
  • Buzz or viral marketing.
  • Market authority.
  • Credibility building.
  • Team collaboration.
  • Online reputation management.
  • Journalism.
  • Online content sharing.
  • New laws of social ethics.
  • New spam movements.
  • New SEO strategies.
  • New traffic generation tactics.
  • Clever web innovations.
  • And new money making markets and trends.

Please if I forgot any other benefit of social media please share it with us through the comment link above or bellow this post.

In Plain English.

This new communication medium is not other thing than the new way to create online content with easy to use publishing tools. This new Internet technology put the power of content on people "YOU", by helping you distribute, share, find new information that would it be hard or maybe impossible to discover without it.

In this new Internet you aren't just a reader anymore, you became an instant publisher...

Now social media marketing is the effective way of using web 2.0 tools to interact with potential customers and with net authorities that can help you spread the word about your company or product.

Here is a great video I found on YouTube that can help you understand this in plain English:

Hope this video gave you a clear "in plain English" explanation about how this new net evolution works.

The Power Tools.

One of the thing that make this sociology + technology era so useful and popular are the tools available to you, that can help you find, create, distribute, and share information in a very easy fashionable way. Some of those tools are:

  1. Blogs services like Blogger or Wordpress.
  2. Micro-blogging like Twitter.
  3. Podcasting like BlogTalkRadio & Talkshoe.
  4. Video sharing sites like YouTube and Revver.
  5. Picture sharing sites like Flickr and Twitpic.
  6. Social networks like Myspace or Facebook.
  7. Social bookmarking like Digg or StumbleUpon.
  8. Question and answer sites like Yahoo Answers.
  9. Social commenting sites like Blerp.
  10. Custom Social networks like Ning.
  11. Content sites like Squidoo or Google Knol.
  12. Content syndication technology like RSS and Atoms.
  13. And much, much more...

There are tools that help you collaborate on a project, others let you share files and documents publicly or with a team. Also you can find tools that are targeted to professional and business use like Linkedin and PartnerUp.

Marketing That Works.

So, how can you make this new medium of communication work for your business? Is there a secret sauce for success? You may already heard many different marketers talking about the power of this medium, and how it can be use to make money online and send a lot of targeted web traffic to your blog or site. But...

The Fact is: "Traffic that comes from web 2.0 sites don't convert good. If you really want to make money online you need to focus on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or SEM (Search Engine Marketing), which refers to PPC or pay-per-click advertising."

Now this doesn't mean that you need to stay away from using this new medium to generate quality leads for your business or product. You can easily use it to:

- Increase branding exposure.

- Generate extra traffic of pre-qualify prospects.

- Generate branding buzz.

- Build new business contacts.

- Connect with potential joint venture partners.

- Connect with potential link partners.

- Also you can have community authorities to recommend you to there audience.

This new medium can be really effective as soon you use the right strategies, which need to be focus on a specific goal. So, before jumping in and start creating a profile on every community network you can find, you need to have the answer for each of the next 2 questions.

1. What's your goal from the use of social media? Which is, what you really want to achieve from it. Then...

2. What strategies are you going to use to get to those goals?

After you answer those to questions, the next step is to write down a strategic marketing plan for each goal, this way your efforts will be focus on action steps that eventually will taking to your final goal. For example: If you want to use social bookmarking sites to gain exposure and one way back links to your site so you can increase your search ranking then you need to plan how you are going to bookmark your content, what type of sites are you going to share, which content will be better to bookmark and how many links per day are your going to share. All this and more needs to be in your action plan. Here are some bookmarking tips you can use right now.

TIP: Implement the sites that you already know how to use first, then make a schedule of how many time per day, week, and month are you going to use them. Another thing I recommend beginners is to use automation tools that can make your job easier, if you don't know where to find them I will give you a complete list of tools by the end of this week.

Video Marketing Start With Good Spreadable Content

By Luis Galarza - Internet Marketing Tips.

Who Cares How Many Views Your Online Videos Have If Is Only A One Time Deal? Your Video Marketing Will Not Be Effective If People Don't Find Your Content Spreadable. You Need To Be Remarkable To Turn Your Videos Viral!

Let's think about this for a little bit... Just remember every time you find a new video on any of the top online media sites like YouTube, Revver, or Veoh, and after you watch it you find the need of sharing or talking about the clip to as many people as you can, and quickly you start emailing it to all your personal contacts or business contacts, you bookmark the URL on your browser for future views, then you use all the social bookmarking sites you have an account with to share the link, you will make a post on your blog about it, and even embed the video on your blog or site(s)... And sometimes you won't end there you will use your mobile phone to keep spreading the media content because you found it remarkable enough that it have to be shared.

Well, my dear Internet entrepreneur that's video marketing done right!

Video marketing experts suggest that you should invest 50% of your time in developing your online video campaign, such us the storyline, content style, and the overall production, and 15% on marketing your videos. You need spend more time in the information because content is what's going to make your media viral or spreadable. Also SEO for video is very important.

The secret here is that you need to be remarkable and at the same time deliver the concept of your message in a way that your audience will understand, using any of the categories below... Off course, some categories are suitable to a larger audience, and you can effectively use it to expose your marketing concept to as many people as you can, and those individuals do the marketing for you by sharing your media with others.

Here is a list of popular online videos categories:

Funny: Comedy videos are one of the top categories with a big viral potential, for that reason these are one you want to master. Yep, humor have the power to spread faster than almost any other category.

Bizarre: People love when others push the limits of things they know people shouldn't be doing, so if you can effectively deliver your message in a bizarre way without hurting your brand or company, this category can be very successful. Note: make sure you don't brake any of the media sharing sites rules.

Skillful: This the type of clips that shows special skills, those that look almost impossible to do. Their good to an usually get embedded on blogs or websites.

Celebrities: Marketers found out long ago that celebrities endorsements can increase the value of your message and have a big influence in the consumers decision making. And online, we discover that celebrities can turn your media viral with the help of fan based sites and blogs that like to embed these type of videos.

Cartoons: This are another winner marketing strategy, because cartoon type ads actually increase responses and now you can use it on your online media to interact with your audience in a fun and innocent way that can become spreadable very fast.

It doesn't matter which category you decide to use to create your online videos base on, what's important is that you effectively communicate your message to your audience and be remarkable at the same time. When planing your video marketing campaign make sure that your goals are clear and make sure your content stays focus on your campaign goals.

Make sure your videos are clear enough to be understood. Not necessarily need to be on high definition, just use keep it good enough to watch. Also the quality depends on watch your video is about and your audience.

Google Knol Problems

By Luis Galarza - Internet Marketing And Make Money Online Tips.

Google Lunches Excellent Content Publishing Service Called Knol... If It's Good, What's The Problem?

Google finally make launch Knol, which is their new content management service, which is aim to target Digg, Wikipedia, Squidoo, and other top definition and "how-to" websites. Now that Google Knol is open to the public many people is jumping into the wagon to try to make a buck out of it, but there is also many people that really wants to contribute quality content just to help people understand more about a topic.

Knol is indeed a great tool to deliver your content and gain authority among your niche... Plus, Google is letting contributors to profit from their content pages, adding their own Adsense account information into the system.

Knol Monetization Problem.

Many bloggers are having a big problem with this part of the Google Knol content publishing program. Because, this will pulling a lot of people who think they are entrepreneurs to try to write articles full of trash just gain search ranking momentum, and make money from each Knol subject they write about.... Many are afraid of the spamming that the service is going to generate.

That's why I created the "Knol This" blog to help and to inspired people to use Knol service in an ethical way, not just to make money... Actually I'm not going to even talk about making money with Knol. But, as a Internet marketer I can't close my eyes before this tremendous web 2.0 article marketing tool. That's why I going to help you use the service to build trust, credibility, branding, industry authority, and targeted website traffic.

My focus is n the content. With a simple formula:

- Quality: Provide articles that are worth reading.

- Unique: Don't copy content from other sites like Wikipedia, be original, add on instead.

- Creative: Don't go for the single words, be creative and engage your readers.

- Targeted: Be specific, and keep your article focus in a single topic.

- Detail: Short articles won't do the magic, be a wiki type of resource.

Google don't have the potential of generating massive income like Squidoo does, with the integrated affiliate programs that can be easily target to almost any niche. Squidoo delivers higher return on investment or ROI, because you make money on each sale, not a few cents per click. Plus, Squidoo can be optimize to get high search engine ranking, with just a few links back and up to date content.

We don't want this:
- Aaron Wall View About Google Knol.
- Google Knol Is Here.
- Google Knol: A Step Too Far.

Here is part of what Techcrunch have to say about this new web 2.0 service:
Knol that will combine parts of Wikipedia and Squidoo to create a new user generated authoritative online knowledgebase of everything.

All the details aren’t fully clear yet. What we do know is that Google will offer a revenue share from each page: “If an author chooses to include ads, Google will provide the author with substantial revenue share from the proceeds of those ads,” although we don’t know at this stage how much. We know that unlike Squidoo or other sites who offer a percentage share of advertising revenue, Knol cuts out the middle man. Think of it this way; presuming Google normally splits 50% (no one knows the exact number, at it changes at different levels) of revenue from an Adsense unit with a normal publisher, in the case of someone like Squidoo or even a blog with writers writing on a rev share model they then get a percentage of the 50%; Knol on the other hand could offer a proper 50% of the actual original cost of the ad, not a percentage of the percentage: that is not only a great big advantage, it’s also verging on unfair competition.

Knol Search Engine Ranking Problem.

You may think that isn't a problem after I tell you that Knol surprisingly ranks very good in Google, hummm.... what a rep booster! Don't you think? That's why bloggers think Knol is evil, and is here to ruin your hard work. By taking top natural search positions, and take some of your income away.

In the other hand, thinking of Knol as a new type of article publishing and distribution tool will help you generate quality web traffic, build authority in your industry which make your prospect comfortable in doing business with you. You are going to get to this point by apply my content formula, which is the same for articles. And yes, Knols is an excellent web 2.0 article marketing tool, that have a lot of Google love for.

For more information about Knol use the following URLs to sign up for updates:

I recommend you to try it and adapt it to your marketing needs, or just to share some of your knowledge.

"is trying to corner the podcast market by aggregating popular, topic-specific podcasts into expert-driven channels. The goal is to combine multiple podcasts, which may only be publishing weekly, into a 3-5 shows per day channel with a single RSS feed. Just like old-style television and radio stations.

podcast directories, like those created by Yahoo and iTunes, are very popular ways of finding new, good podcast content. Podango wants to take this a step further and mash the talent up into topic specific channels, taking some of the work out of finding good content by listeners. If they are successful, look for the established players to quickly follow suit."

The whole goal for the way the service is set up, is for directors to choose the top podcasters for their category and this can help avoid dead air with all those show from different directors. And here is the good part for entrepreneurs looking for another easy way to make money online... How much money can you make? Personally I don't know yet, but Techcrunch said...

If this amounts are accurate, I personally recommend you to give this podcast service a try. You can even turn it into your main revenue source.

Digg Suck - Blog Marketing There Is Like Throwing Crap In The Toilet

By Luis Galarza - Affiliate Marketing Secret Training Guide Blog

It's True!... Digg Sucks Big Time. The Golden Days When Any Blogger Use To Submit Their Hard Working Blog Post To Generate Link Baiting Viral Sequence Are Are Over. Blog Marketing Is Consider Trash Marketing In Digg...

Why Blog Marketing On Digg Is Like Crap In The Toilet?

I know this is a harsh way to put it, but that's exactly what the main Digg community or fans think about blogs... Yes, the service still a social bookmarking tool that is control by the people, the problem is that the people that is controlling Digg content are just geek fans of a few popular tech topics and that's it.

Everyone is noticing this... my friend Jeffro from Jeffro2pt0 also think that the Digg story doesn't sell anymore, because the community that is now on top of whatever content steps the inside Digg's site is thrown to the side if if not related to what they like.

Here is what Jeffro wrote in his blog post:
"Muhammad makes a series of points that I agree helped to propel Digg.com to success. However, the golden days of Digg.com are long gone.

One of the biggest reasons why Digg became successful was that it provided individuals with the opportunity to govern the site. By way of democracy, users choose which articles were submitted to the site, what made it to the front page, which new features should be implemented, ect. What a novel concept this was in the beginning. Fast forward to today and what do we have?

Digg is now controlled by the majority of users who just so happen to be Apple fanboys, who just happen to be Linux fanboys, who just happen to be political nut cases. Occasionally, you will see an article reach the front page that doesn’t fit in these three categories, but for the most part, these three categories run the roost. At one time, it was ok to submit Digg articles that were housed on blogs. Nope, you can’t do that anymore because the majority of Digg users frown on blogs and consider all blogs to be internet trash."

As you see, if your blog post or article have nothing about Microsoft, Linux, or Apple, your content just get bury in the Digg sandbox. As an online marketer you need to see if Digg needs to be part of your regular Internet or Social Media Marketing strategy...

Now, don't trash Digg yet. Because still a good way to build one way links back to your blog post or article page, which is a good element for your search engine optimization or SEO efforts. But, forget trying to generate link baiting sources from there. Hopefully, the community will get some evolution changes and become the cool Digg it used to be.

Now there are ways to create buzz in this social bookmarking site by integrating useful content with a title that have the words Microsoft, Apple, or Linux in it... don't just mention it on your title to try to get on the front page of Digg, the strategy here is to write a peice of quality information that can introduce your blog, web site, or product to this audience in a nice and professional way. If you do it right you may even create a link bait viral squence with your article.

This can work because the Digg community is just fans of this topics, read what Jeffro said about this...
"With all that being said, many of the things that made Digg successful are also the things that are dragging the service down. Digg is run by crowds of vocal people. So vocal in fact, that if you put the words Microsoft Sucks or Apple or Linux into your post title, you’re guaranteed a front page spot on Digg. It doesn’t matter if the story is nothing more than a rumor. Because of these insanely vocal crowds, regular users visit Digg.com and are constantly bombarded with these types of news stories.

The bottom line is this. Digg WAS great, now it SUCKS. Do yourself a favor and create an RSS feed that aggregates stories submitted to Digg with the keywords you configure so you rarely have to visit the Digg.com site itself. Let the (lack of wisdom) Digg crowd work for you, not against you."
Don't stop submitting your article or blog post, just do it smart if you want to use it as viral marketing tool. Remember that Web 2.o or Social Media Marketing still in evolution and I don't think this changes will ever stop, so you need to change with it and test different strategies to keep growing your online small business.
