Yahoo email frustration; lost the chance to enter into a contest!

I guess i'm not going to register or sign up on any site again using my yahoo email id! I'm still waiting for a confirmation email i was supposed to receive on my yahoo account. It's a site hosting a kids contest and i registered my 11 year old son, Aryan to participate. But it's only for Indians and though reliable, but they're only allowing a limited number of entries. Besides only one sign up per IP! Now that i haven't yet received the confirmation email how on earth am i going to enter further into the contest which is for kids of tender ages to create fun cartoons, faces, etc with colorful paints on food, and submit for voting. The winner would be selected through votes.

My son Aryan qualifies as a 11 year old and it would be a good opportunity to divert his mind from the games he loves to play but to which he is also getting addicted to. I thought since he is a creative little boy, there is a chance for him to win, plus his time spent on the contest would be worth his energy than the exhausting games he plays. But, i haven't yet received the yahoo email and frustration is getting into me because i would still run out of time for a second attempt to sign up from my sisters PC, considering the limited entries for registration. My sister might be in a deep sleep by now... and here it's a 'hurry or sign ups expire soon' situation i am stuck in! i cant even ask for a re-confirmation as im sure it still wouldn't arrive in my inbox. This has occurred a repeated amount of times but trusting yahoo emails service i signed up with my yahoo id, now what, regret! I should have used my Gmail id instead (sigh). Has Aryan lost the chance to enter? I'll have to wait and see... :(

Well, i've already waited for an hour to see if the mail would arrive at my yahoo address, even if in its own sweet time, but in vain. I think yahoo mail needs a real enhancement of its services instead of introducing a number of new and attractive features which are useless if the main service which is delivery and reception of emails hasn't yet bettered. In the attempt to lure new users they might lose their existing users to Gmail!

For me, a Gmail account is the winner even though they might not have been offering the new and many features the yahoo account does. But i don't care for features i care for my important mails more than anything else! Seems like i will have to divert all my imp emails to my Gmail account because, who knows, one day i might awake and find all my emails gone! Yahoo would say; we regret the inconvenience caused!!!!

I love watching horror movies but it scares me!

Love watching horror movies as i may have already mentioned time and time again on my blogs and last night too, we watched bloody Mary, all alone in our living room! my husband slept in the bedroom... lol.. it was Aryan, my 10 year old son, and myself who tucked ourselves in on the couch to watch the horror flick as i didn't think twice to allow him stay awake that late, till 3 am, because he didn't have to go to school in the morning being a Sunday. So i got act 2 popcorn and some more snacks ready and began watching... and every time a scary scene played where the ghost of Mary appears all in soaked blood and scary make up, i covered my eyes with my fingers while i peeped at the screen from between them... hehe.. so you can already imagine what a funk i am but my Aryan is so brave he didn't even get a winks scared. When the scenes were over , he'd tell me "mummy, its over, you can open your eyes now".

I love the mysteries behind these movies which why i'm so drawn to them and i really don't love watching it because i fancy watching these zombies and ghosts. So are you a lover of horror movies too??

To look well, you got to sleep well- from a son's point of view

Aryan (before going shopping)- "mummy why didn't you put on make up, because we are going out now and you are looking dull"

Me- "Oh, baby, why what happened, i look bad...?" taking a look in the mirror i said "OMG! i really look bad, but now what to, its Ramadan and we don't wear make up during Ramadan month"

Aryan- No you don't look bad mummy but you have dark circles under eyes and it makes you look dull, why don't you sleep early? please sleep well"

I almost had tears in my eyes when he said those lines not because i was looking dull but because i sit up late at nights and work on my reviews, not to forget FB, and Aryan (my 10 yr old son) is so concerned for his mother. At first he seemed beauty conscious about me but later he kept stressing on my sleep routine. Of course, i agree any son would love their mothers to look all decked up and maybe my Aryan felt his mom looked too simple when she always wore make up on outings. I usually just put on some eyeliner and lipstick and nothing more, when going out! No powders, concealers or foundations etc, etc, for me.. i'm too uncomfortable in all that stuff and its a big no no for me except for weddings when they would be lights, cameras, action... and some heavy make up wouldn't do any harm but add spice to curry! hehe... You know what i mean, don't you?

Aryan has been too out of control lately!

Waiting to pack and move to our new home soon, and our kids are more than excited by the every thought of it as the new home is huge and spacious. Its a good thing that now at least Aryan would be indoors most of the time and this would also divert his mind from all the outdoor nonsense he's been up to lately, like bursting crackers on cats! yeah, i know its sounds harmful and its also an undisciplined behavior from his side which is quite a worry too, these days. His behavior is getting too out of my hand and i got to take some stringent action on him before hes out of my control!! i've been getting neighbor complaints and hes deemed one of the most mischievousness boys in the society!!

Got to do something about it soon but i think, things will change for the better once in the new home :)

It was Aryans birthday on the 12th of may and we have great fun

Hmm... well yesterday was my son, Aryans birthday and he turned 9 years old which hits me, am turning older too! hehe.. well just by years and not by heart.. i heard a person turns younger as she/he steps on her 30th birthday!? well i'm not yet 30 yet so i guess i'm still growing ;)

OK, so we celebrated with close relatives and friends, not a big affair though, but it was well entertained by me the host, and my guests loved the delicacy's i prepared.. i prepared Chinese!! hehe.. It was the most awaited day for Aryan since this month had begun and there wasn’t a day his excitement didn’t increase. You know how kids get excited at the thought about a party, cakes, gifts etc etc.. we enjoyed the day :-)

About Aryan, my pregnancy and his birth.. going back in time.

Aryan loves playing games on the pc, hes a genius when it comes to it:-). Hes also mischievous and chats with my sister(his aunt of course) from my yahoo, and once told her i'll be reaching her home in five mins(she was waiting for me) and she was bugged with me when i dint turn up and wasn’t receiving the calls coz i was still in the bath!!!

I remember when i was admitted to the nursing home, i was over-date and my doc was furious with me, told me if i was over date and wasn't uncomfortable with unusual pains etc.. i should have checked up earlier. Thank god i've never had to have a c-section, and i always preferred normal delivery to a c-section! I even cried during both my deliveries when i was told i was at risk for normal due to low BP! Believe or not, the people, my relatives thought am crazy to be crying for normal, where as people opted for c-sections these days! I was avoiding the nurses at the nursing home even though i was in pain and they had to check on me from time to time.. but everything went well and Aryan was born after three days of continuous contractions and many hours of actual labor:-)

I was always extraordinary and my greatest strength is the determination i posses :-)

PS. this was a post i had written yesterday but wasn't able to publish because of my terrible internet connections.. :-)

Watching harry potter with my kids, gave me immense happiness this month

I enjoyed watching harry potter with my kids the whole of this month,.. i mean every Sunday a part of harry potter is featured on TV and since i had only watched the first part many years ago, now being able to watch with the kids was really an experience so close to my heart. I noticed the parts got more scarier, and to watch in the dark was truly pretty thrilling!! guess what, i put off the lights and made ourselves comfortable, all cuddled up together and no doubt, the winters played a wonderful role in our enjoyment..

There is no need to go to a cinema hall just to watch a harry potter, and probably its not showing at any hall this time or month, but watching it at home on TV itself is fine especially when you have a two year old.. who screams potta potta all the time!! hahahahaha...

Yes that true, Alisha was also excited, screaming potta potta each time harry appeared on screen:).. The whole idea of watching a children's movie with your kids, taking out time from a pretty busy routine brings tears to my heart because these moments will never come again, or never be repeated as kids grow up every day and along with their growth, they also seem to change.. What i mean, only a mother can understand what is sharing tiny pieces of joys with our kids from a young age so that we will never get a chance to regret it later:)

Barely one part finishes, we're excited and looking forward to the other parts, next two are harry potter and the goblet of fire and harry potter and the order of the phoenix... please watch it with your kids if you get the chance too! and scream and laugh with along with them.. but don't scare them like i do;)(wink, wink)

Play doh is a wonderful tool to enhance the kids creativity

Few months back when my hubby went to madras, he bought back gifts for Aryan and Alisha as i mentioned in my earlier posts. A barbie for Alisha and Play-doh for Aryan, who loved playing with play-doh all the time. I remember he was overjoyed with his new gift and Alisha too. It was her first time, she saw she could mould the doh into any shape and started baking roti on her little rolling board and pin! haha.. she made colorful parathas for us that day:).. Aryan got busy creating ears, hair, teeth, eyebrows, eyes etc with the tools he got in the set and created a very funny clown, and a man with the longest moustache, which he took all over to show off his skills:)

The doh is a very creative tool for kids, to boost their creativity, but its warned that kids dont put the doh into their mouth and parents have to monitor that while the kids play. Its not recommended for kids below 3, but i didn't mind Alisha playing with it as i guided her and never left her alone. They created houses, animals, flowers, and lots more and i was a happy mom, they got something to keep them busy for hours! or else they made too much noise:)

Its a a non-toxic colorful(different colors) modeling clay compound similar in texture to bread dough, and has a sweet fragrance smell(these days) which usually children could mistake for sweets/food. Can be found in different packs, with diffrent creations and colors. Be careful while your kids play, for it can cause choking hazzards, and this is a strict warning to parents.

23rd month old baby Alishas's funny updates

Baby Alisha who turned 23 months(on the 18 of Sept), is totally adored by her parents for all the sweetness, cleverness and funniness that she possesses. These days shes pleading me, says "peash, peash" and no, that's no french word for me but simple English which actually means please, please.. and she does it so cutely with folded hands when she needs anything and am not paying attention! hahaha.. shes been watching her elder sibling Aryan do it several times when he needs something to be done and now shes coping him without knowing the meaning, or maybe even knowing.. and i cant imagine how clever babies are getting:)

Her new words this month are baby, bum, com ma(come here), butter, jam, cat, birdie, bath, go, bobby, die(buy), bread, poto(potato), rice, boo boo(ghost), kool(school), wata(water), poll(fall), catsh(catch), as i remember more of the past months.. ill update:)

She watched any baby on TV, she points and says momaiya(that's me), papaiya(her papa) and baby(herself) and of course still dances like Jennifer Lopez and Malaika Sharavat(she gives those bum shakes).. hehe.. her favourite kids serial on tv is Krishna(Indian god), tom and jerry, bheegi billi and bheem( a child character) on cartoon and pogo channels. I forgot shes crazy over her boyfriend 'BEN TEN' for shes always mumbling ban tan, ban tan.. and shakes her bottom, hips when the title song plays:)

Loves drinking Pepsi and eating chips, also loves butter so much that she eats spoons of them.

Hates to tie ponytail(sigh).. i always wished to tie beautiful ribbons on her ponytail but shes always nods her head and screams at me:(.. even if i succeed, she tosses it. Am growing her hair for her birthday and i hope she allows me to do her hair. Anyone got any idea? mommies, come on , give me some useful ideas please;)

My 8yr old son used my paypal to buy his membership at club penguin

This may sound crazy, but its never completely impossible for a kid of 8 years to buy his membership through his moms pay pal account.. and Aryan, my son proved it right. Know what, i logged into my email for pay pal and found an email stating that a certain amount of money 'has been transferred to club penguin as per your request', a kids game site. I was dazzled at the first few words of the email but i soon realised it was true, still doubted the transaction couldn't have taken place without a confirmation or something.. so i signed into my pay pal account but found it was too late, my $$$ were already transferred to the site as a fee charged for a double membership at club penguin. A dollar means lots if changed to Indian rupees so you can understand what it meant.

My Aryan is a very clever boy and watches each and every move of mine on the PC.. he he.. i was in fits of anger that day, but planned to let him continue his membership with warning he is no more allowed to sign into my accounts and if he does, it will result in severe punishment. I also changed my auto sign in;).. Had this to gain quicker log in, due to the PC being slow. Now its a bit difficult but its a lesson learned again!

Well, on the club penguin site, i noticed, that by just being a free member he wont be able to take part in the games and other activities which he was longing for. So now while Aryan enjoys playing to his hearts content, his studies are also strictly attended to. I am glad he is able to balance both as 'too much work and no play makes Aryan a dull boy':)

Baby Alisha turns 22 months.. awaiting her birthday

Baby Alisha turned 22 months on the 18th of August, just two months left for her 2nd birthday! I am so excited, as i've planned a hugeee birthday party for my doll. I have planned to create a fairy land atmosphere, in which shes be wearing a pretty lacy fairy dress and her cake will be of a fairy too. Its all going to be in my favourite color pink, light pink. And am sure everyone invited will enjoy the party tremendously. We had a very huge party for Aryan(my son) on his 1st birthday with around 500 guests attending, seemed like a wedding party:) I guess i wont be inviting 500 people but those that will be invited can be assured an enjoyable time. We'll have dancing, singing, games, feasting etc etc... dancing will be in free style with lots of English hits, as my family loves 'jiving', to the core...hehe

Now, back to the topic.. hehe.. Alisha had shown a great improvement in her English and shes now began to use words like Bike, car, colors, monkey, maggi(aggi), cat and some words she repeats instantly. The funniest word is Babb which she calls her brother because we call him by his nickname, which is bobby:).. so she keeps calling him as "babb, babb".. Shes changed from aao(hindi word for come).. to come and am the happiest mom;)

Shes been very quite fit(touch wood) since her convulsion, in fact shes perfectly fine and what else can a mother want:).. the only thing she prefers nursing to solids, but am hoping she'll soon begin consuming rice, dal and veggies in larger quantities.

Please let me know how you celebrated your child's first birthdays:)

watched a movie bhootnath, with family

Yesterday i watched the children's movie Bhootnath at home, with my family. While i was busy on the PC, Aryan and his dad were watching the movie and i got interested to watch along with them though i missed out just a few minutes of the movie. The movie moved me to tears rolling right down my face.. Funny thing when we watch an emotional scene on TV, how we shed tears. That's always the case with me and it’s too embarrassing at times. My husband teased me along with Aryan, the monkey on hot bricks! Aryan watched the movie excitedly too, as the kid acting in the movie matched his nature being smart and a prankster.

The story centered about a bhoot(spirit) who dies in the house and doesn't allow anyone to live there, scares them away. Then one day a couple Shahrukh and Juhi along with their kid come to live there. When the kid encounters the scary Amitabh for the first time, he isn't afraid and instead tells the bhoot that if he gets scared, to wake him up! ha ha.. after much of trying to scare the boy, his innocence wins the bhoots heart and then they are the best buddies at home, in school and even in the pranks they play on Juhi, the kids mom. There is an emotional story behind his(amitabhs death) no wonder he remains a spirit who roams around not letting anyone live in the house, but the boys family prepare prayers for the spirits soul to rest in peace. Many funny and emotional scenes which makes the movie a topper in recent times. I kind of like horror movies but this wasn't a horror, yet i enjoyed watching it with my family. Parents in India must take there kids out to watch it the movie. some scenes are sure to get to into splits of laughter too.. happy watching bhootnath!:)

Baby Alisha got a deep cut near her eyes, trying to blog!

last night while playing, baby Alisha cut herself near her eyes. The cut was a bit deep and bleeding badly, right above her eyelid. I immediately pressed the cut with some crushed ice.. i don't know whether any other thing could have been done, that was the only thing that came to my mind while she was wailing so loud. And it was quite late at night, no hospitals near by, but(my hubby and me) managed to console her and put her to sleep. Thank god once again, nothing serious and shes quite ok today, active and not complaining. The best part was that while i wasn't near the computer, Alisha was, trying to type letters on my draft posts! while Mommy's away, baby is there to take over! cute ha? :)

I was mad at Aryan because i repeatedly kept yelling at him to watch Alisha while she plays, but i think the TV is the main culprit especially the cartoon and pogo channels. Anyways, Aryan is a male child and i think hes got lots of other ideas in his mind, than to watch his sis while she plays.. he wants to give out our phone numbers/address while signing up on the game sites! he says we'll receive plenty of gifts when he wins any game.. and am like.. omg!

My boy Aryan!

This boy is my first kid Aryan at two years, hes 7 years at present but a computer genius withen him. Knows everything from Google searches, to emailing, to registration(of course with some help), profile filling and even chatting... at 7?? Now isn't that amazing?? He is a sensible child and picks up things at the drop of a hat but i do take strict measures to see that there is always foolproof Internet safety.

The thing is that there is an innocent sibling rivalry between him and the younger one, a toddler, and that does tend to take to bullying his younger sis 'Alisha'... I think the world does have this problem or is it just me whose worrying too much??? He does get a bit of spanking for mischievousness but we do try to make his live perfect in every best way we can. Sometimes giving into him and sometimes not for if he never experiences the pain of frustration, he most probably won’t ever develop psychological skills that are crucial for his future happiness... I want the best for him for his future just as any parent would want so.
