Internet Put The Power Of Strategic Marketing In The Hands Of Small Business Owners

No, I'm not trying to sell you anything in fact I going to give Internet marketing newbies the chance to really start making money by the end of this week or by the end of the month, your success depends on how well you follow instructions and how hard are you willing to work to achieve your financial goals, remember that regular people work 8, 12 or more hours for somebody else, but an entrepreneur is willing to work 16 hours or more in his own business to make sure it grows to the point when you don't have to work as many hours anymore.

First you need to know that starting an Internet business is simple not easy! Now, you can make it easier by using the right online marketing tools and strategies that will really help you maximize your small business. On the Internet a small business or any type of real stream of income is based on three things:


1. - Relevant Content.

Whatever your site is about it have to provide extremely relevant content that is targeting to what your audience will expect when they visit your site or blog. As you can see I'm not talking about top quality content, I'm talking about information that is closely related to your niche or market, even if the type of site that you are using as your Internet marketing presence is a blog. I will explain this in more details in a few.


2. - Lots Of Targeted Traffic.

You need to concentrate your Internet marketing efforts on strategies and web advertising channels that can deliver a massive amount of targeted traffic to your web site or blog. When I said targeted traffic I don't mean people looking to socialize or sharing information about your niche, I mean getting hot prospects looking to spend money on your site, looking to buy what you are selling, wanting to learn what you are teaching. These are the visitors that will click through your affiliate links and take action, the ones that will not think twice on clicking your Adsense ads when they see a good offer, the ones that will read your blog posts, subscribe to your RSS feeds or opt-in to receive your email newsletter.

This is the only type of traffic that matters, the ones that will help you make money online.


3. - Monetization elements.

After getting all that high quality traffic now you need to monetize it, by creating a good response base income system, a system that will deliver traceable high conversion rates and can be improve or optimize to increase your website revenue. Another thing is that you need to add as many relevant stream of income as you can without over clouding your site with offers. Some of the monetization program you use are:
  • Google Adsense.
  • Affiliate Networks.
  • Stand Alone Affiliate Programs.
  • API or Data Feed Base Affiliate Partnerships.
  • Sell Advertising Space.
  • Contextual Ad Networks.
  • Your Own Digital or Physical Products.
  • Your Own Services.
  • Selling On eBay.
  • Joint Ventures.
  • Membership Sites.
  • Online Network Marketing.
  • Etc...



4. - Customer Relationship Systems.

If you want to build a long term Internet marketing business you need to start building your own database or opt-in email list. By having your own email list you will be able to follow up with hot prospects that haven't made a purchase yet, you can educate your customers or prospects about your product and niche, and you can provide valuable information to position yourself as a top expert in your market.

Some of the systems that you can use to keep in touch with your current customers and leads are:
  • Email Newsletter.
  • Blogging.
  • Custom Social Network.
  • Social Networks.
  • Online Communities.
  • Postal Mail.
  • Membership Site.
  • RSS or Atom Feeds.
  • Mobile Marketing.



5. - Long Term Sales Process.

OK, you started a new online business, you have an Internet marketing plan, and you already getting some front door sales and leads from your online advertising and marketing campaigns, what's next? Many beginners fail to understand how business really grow their sales and profits, usually newbies will try to find new ways to increase web traffic, and conversions, which is OK... But, any successful Internet marketer will tell that you are forgetting to monetize your main business assets, which is your current customers, loyal newsletter subscribers, and blog readers.

You can increase your online sales and revenue by planning monetization strategies and marketing campaign that will target your current customers, email list, and blog readers. If you aren't marketing to them you are leaving a lot of money on the table. Remember that it's easier and cheaper to promote and sell something to someone that already have trust on you or already purchased something from you.

Two of the ways you can do this right from the beginner, when I said beginning I mean when a person is ordering something from you or after they opt-in to your email list is by applying cross-sell and up-sell strategies. I will explain this in future posts but for now you need to know, what is it?

- Up-sell: This is when you offer an upgrade to a product or service that is higher in price.

- Cross-sell: This is when you offer relevant products to increase the quantity of items a buyer can purchase on a given transaction.

Many top etailers (online retail stores) use these marketing tactics to increase sales instantly, which mean on time of transactions. Top infoproduct and software marketers use OTO's or one-time-offers to do this. This is a salespage that appears after the end of a transaction or after a person opt-ins to an email list service, and usually will offer an up-sell to a better or complete product line. What I'm talking about is Internet marketing with a sense of urgency, this is when you create campaign to motivate your target audience to take action now or by a set time, the action can be a purchase, a call, opt-in to your list, subscription to a membership site, etc., the important thing here is to create an offer to have you visitors to take that action by the set time you want them to.

But, to create a sale process for a long term you need to create back-end offers like:
  • Affiliate endorsements.
  • Relevant services.
  • Offer other products.
  • Joint venture products.
  • Use Adsense for RSS.



Now, remember to build a strong relationship with your customers before starting any type of promotions, also keep your email marketing campaigns to a minimum, this way you will reduce opt-outs.



Why Newbies Fail?

This single subject needs its own article to help you avoid must of the factors that stop new online entrepreneurs to achieve a high level of business success, but right now what you need to understand is that starting and keeping an Internet business growing successfully you are going to need more than just a good website, an informative blog, or good copyrighting skills, none of this Internet marketing elements will do you any good if you don't know the facts that separates successful web marketers with those that make little or hardly any money.

The main factors that separate the marketers that make six figures or seven figures incomes online from those that make pennies per month are:
  1. They have a purpose and focus their efforts to one thing at a time.
  2. They don't complicate thing, they try to use or create simple systems that are easy for them to administrate.
  3. They don't waste their time in marketing spotting, or trying every single new trick that they find out there, they have a plan and stick to it.
  4. They don't look for or chase the million dollars promise, they find a need on demand and find a way to fill it.
  5. They don't just dream and for the next best thing, they set goals and develop an action plan to meet those goals. With little step moving forward all the time.
  6. They make sure they know how to apply an strategy or how to use an online advertising channel before waisting their efforts and money on it.
  7. Every top marketer will tell you that having a mentor and being part of a business group can help grow your business faster. 2 minds are better than one.
As you can see success is all up to you and the system you develop to get each of your actions pull positive results.
