Down the same vein as Mac, my first has to be the Memorare. I pray it at the end of each Rosary, and there is something about it that makes me feel secure. (Could it be my confidence in the Blessed Mother?)
The next prayer, I admittedly do not know the name, but I grew up saying it, and always had a special devotion to my guardian angel. The reason it is number two is twofold. 1) I grew up with it, and is a reminder of those days. 2) Guardian angles have an important part in our daily lives, whether we think about them or not. If someone recognizes it, and knows the name, please let me know! Without further ado, here is the prayer:
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord, God of Hosts, Heaven and Earth are full of Thy glory. Kneeling before thy majesty, we thank thee O God, that thou has given each of us a Heavenly companion, to be at our side. One who leads us according to thy will, directs us in thy paths, and manifests to us thy love. We resolve here in thy presence to love our holy companion as a brother; and to obey him in the voice of conscience. He will surely lead us to Heaven. Lord Jesus Christ, Our Savior, take my hand and place it in the hand of my Guardian Angel, and make the sign of our redemption over it, thy blessings for our salvation. Amen.
The third prayer is the Eternal Rest. Every time I drive past a cemetery, I pray it. It has to be number three because there are so many that need those prayers. Also, I hope that when I need those prayers, there will be someone there to pray them for me.
So that's it! Now for the tags. I am going to tag five of the six listed in the post "thank yous." The one I'm leaving out is Mulier Fortis, because Mac tagged us. :-p
2) Libera Me
5) Ecce Homo
Have Fun, guys/gals!
*NB: I personally really like the british spelling of, "favourite" as well as "cheque". For some reason it makes them seem...snazzier.
