In the early days of this blog... I had several frustrations with Blogger.
I still do.
I also write a private family blog with Word Press and pay for hosting.
I am no more happy with *IT* than I am with blogger, and that is why I went this route for DUIB. Word Press in the long run will be more stable and more customizable but for this blog I just didn't have the capital, so to speak, to pay for such a set-up for this blog.
As the blog grows and I want to do more with it, I find myself being limited. One of the biggest problems is that Blogger offers a lot of features, but not a lot of solutions or support. They allow BASIC blogs to be run, and run well, but once you begin to customize, things don't work well unless you really know HTML and website creation.
My problem is that I know just enough to get myself into trouble. I really wanted a "semi" custom look to the blog and so I did so through some blogger features. Once you do that though, there is really no turning back, and later customization becomes difficult. I thought of switching to Wordpress, but big changes create bigger headaches, and with a new child I don't have a "day or two" to devote to a switch. I also thought about "re-setting" the blog to a more basic set up, but that would invite just as many problems.
So I appeal to you all... what are your thoughts and suggestions?
Any advice or help?
Is there anything you like, don't like, or wish the blog would look like or "do"?
Maybe a change for lent?
